Soon after Nebbercracker's body is brought to the hospital and DJ is left by his parents, Zee arrives at DJ's house and asks about what has happened, to which DJ simply ignores her. She then gives the lecture on DJ and when he expressed his boredom with her rules, she resorts to shattering one of DJ's mother's vases as blackmail and told him to go to bed. While DJ was upstairs, she put on loud rock music and called her boyfriend Bones, most likely asking him to come over.

In the evening, DJ gets phone calls from Nebbercracker's house, even though nobody is there. He believes that Nebbercracker's ghost has made the house come to life. DJ overhears Bones talking about a kite which he lost to Mr. Nebbercracker when he was a small boy. When Bones leaves for home, he sees the kite which he lost long ago in the doorway of Nebbercracker's house. The trio consults supernatural expert Reginald "Skull" Skulinski, who speculates the house must be a rare type of monster created by the fusion of a human's spirit and a man-made object that can only be unbound when its heart is struck.

As the credits roll, the victims who were eaten by the house emerges from the hole. The house breaks free from its foundation and chases the group to a construction site. Nebbercracker attempts to convince the house that it should be destroyed while holding stick of dynamite, but the house refuses. As it tries to eat him, Chowder fights the house off with an excavator, causing it to fall into a pit. DJ is given the dynamite and he and Jenny climb to the top of a tower crane while Chowder distracts the horse. DJ throws the dynamite into the chimney, destroying the house.
He is seen later, emerging from the pit where the house uprooted itself carrying his prized childhood kite.
